What is EGF you might ask? First of all, EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor. It was first discovered during the 1980’s by biochemists Stanley Cohen and Dr Rita Levi-Montalcini. This discovery was stumbled upon during their quest to find a solution for stimulating the increase of epidermal cells, without depending on any systemic or hormonal influences.
For the miraculous discovery of this growth EGF, both Cohen and Levi-Montalcini were awarded a Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1986.
Following their research, EGF was used to treat burn wounds and is now being researched for revolutionary scientific advances like the bioengineering of artificial organs. Incredible work, right!
So, what is EGF?
EGF is a naturally occurring protein molecule found in the skin’s fibroblast cells. It works by stimulating cell growth and differentiation by binding to its receptor, EGFR. Resulting in cellular growth, development and survival.
If you think this sounds like a natural healing solution, you would be right. It is believed the main purpose of EGF is to help renew the skin after injury occurs.
How does this work within human skin?
Firstly, the EGF recognises and binds to the EGFR receptor found on the outer layer of the skin. Then, that receptor delivers a message to increase the production of cells to the affected area. The effect is quick and even healing. In fact, it has been found to be absolutely crucial to our healing and regeneration process.
Where is EGF found?
EGF proteins can be found in a number of different mammal secretions, including goat milk.
Why is EGF effective in skin care products?
Although the science community have been researching the affects of EGF for a long time, it has only recently been harnessed as a skin benefiting elixir!
Because of all these amazing skin benefits, we have infused our Milk Magic Collection with goat milk extract, which contain EGF proteins. When the formula is applied to the skin, the EGF cells activate and work to thicken the epidermis in the applied area.
This means your skin will look plumper, refreshed and will have a youthful glow. Long story short, EGF proteins in skin care products heal and rebuild thinning skin caused by ageing. Research has also found EGF Proteins to send receptors messages, leading to an increased production in collagen. Keeping your skin firm and supple.
In conclusion, EGF skin care products are extremely effective in reversing signs of ageing. By using Skin Nutrients Goat Milk collection as your main skincare regime, you have eliminated the need for any other anti-ageing product. In fact, Goat’s Milk Magic Collection can improve the effect of other cosmetic skin treatments such as peels, microdermabrasions or any other type of exfoliation. Why? Because applying the formulas after exfoliating or “injuring” the skin, will speed up the healing process, resulting in a smooth, youthful and glowing complexion.
So, if you are looking for an anti-ageing skin care routine that has a scientific background and is proven to work. Look no further!
You will not be disappointed.
